Supporting People in Need is a dedicated hostel for homeless men, currently accommodating 20 individuals in need of support. Our centre is located in Ardwick, Manchester.

Volunteer Opportunities in Manchester

As a volunteer, your role will be diverse and impactful. You may be involved in:

• Reception Duties: Welcome residents and visitors, answer phone calls, and provide general information.
• Computer Support: Assist residents in using our IT suite, particularly for job searches and creating CVs.
• English Language Support: Help residents improve their English language skills.
• Arts Activities: Set up and support creative workshops in various arts disciplines.
• Music: Create a positive atmosphere by playing music for our residents.
• Cooking Classes  Working with our residents to prepare food from around the world 

How to Apply to Volunteer at Supporting People in Need

To volunteer at Supporting People in Need, complete the application form online or email us at claire@supportingpeopleinneed.org. We are a friendly team and will invite you to visit our Centre for a tour. Afterward, we will complete your DBS check. You will also attend a taster session, and once completed, you can start volunteering.

No Experience Required

You don’t need prior experience working with homeless individuals to volunteer with us. We seek individuals with the right attitude—non-judgmental and team-oriented. We provide an induction, including a health and safety course.
